The Second Turkmen-Uzbek Interregional Forum was held at a high level in the city of Turkmenabat.
The forum was attended by leaders of trade and financial structures, regional administrations, and representatives of the private sector from both countries.
As noted by the Turkmen side, the organization of such events, which have already become traditional, testifies to the enduring bonds of friendship between the two countries and peoples.
The first interregional forum was organized in 2022 in Bukhara, and in July of this year, an exhibition of Turkmen goods was held in Tashkent.
In the context of maximizing the potential of interstate partnership, joint Trade Houses were opened in Ashgabat and Tashkent; the construction of a Turkmen-Uzbek border Trade Center continues at the Dashoguz-Shavat checkpoint.
The construction of new and modernization of existing highways, railway branches, warehouses, and other infrastructure facilities positively impacts the strengthening of the economies of Turkmenistan's Lebap and Dashoguz regions, as well as Uzbekistan's Bukhara and Khorezm regions.
Participants from the Uzbek side noted the significance of the current forum and the national exhibition of goods from the Republic of Uzbekistan in establishing productive ties between the business communities of the two countries and discussing promising areas of partnership. Attention was also focused on the steady growth rate of trade turnover between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. The quality of interregional partnership is significantly positively affected by the benefits provided to businessmen of both countries. In this regard, the Uzbek side expressed its readiness to increase trade turnover.
Within the framework of the forum, bilateral meetings were also held between representatives of both countries, during which issues of expanding cross-border trade and economic and trade-investment cooperation, implementing joint projects, and activating dialogue between the business communities of the two states were discussed.
It should be noted that within the framework of the forum, an exhibition of Uzbek goods "Made in Uzbekistan" was also held in Turkmenabat.
