Board Meeting of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation Held in Arkadag

A meeting of the Board of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assisting Children in Need of Care took place in the city of Arkadag.

The meeting, chaired by the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, was attended by board members, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of Arkadag City under the President of Turkmenistan D. Orazov, and the Mayor of Arkadag City, G. Mammedova.

The agenda included a review of the Foundation's activities over the past period, amendments to legal regulations, the allocation of the Foundation’s funds, the annual results of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children's Health and Rehabilitation Center, and other matters.

Vice President of the Foundation R. Bazarov presented a report on the work carried out and outlined future tasks. He noted that, funded by the Foundation, 500 surgeries were performed on sick children, including 261 this year. Preventive check-ups were also conducted, and children received comprehensive medical supplies.

Additionally, Dialog+ hemodialysis machines from Germany's B.Braun were installed in children's hospital departments in Ashgabat and other provinces. The Rehabilitation Center in Arkadag carried out significant work to restore children's health as part of an approved plan. The Foundation also extended its international activities by providing humanitarian aid to children in Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Palestine affected by various disasters.

The report highlighted that computers were provided to students of a school built by Turkmen construction companies in Tajikistan’s Khatlon region, and baby food produced by the medical cluster was sent to Afghanistan. The UN's 57th Commission on Population and Development praised the Foundation's humanitarian efforts, further boosting its international reputation.

As part of its support, the Foundation distributed gifts to children in orphanages across the country during New Year, International Children's Day, and other holidays. Graduates received computers, while creative contests for children were also sponsored by the Foundation.

Following the report, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of continuously improving the Foundation's activities and issued a series of instructions for implementing its tasks effectively.

During the meeting, E. Chernova, a member of the Board, presented a financial report on the funds allocated for humanitarian assistance in 2025 and proposals regarding the use of the Foundation's resources for celebrations, medical care, and charitable projects.

Director of the Rehabilitation Center M. Okuzova reported that 985 children with disabilities received treatment at the center this year, with 27 children graduating from its kindergarten and enrolling in local schools. The center is currently caring for approximately 100 children.

Discussions also addressed the center's international collaborations and participation in training conferences on early childhood development and autism treatment. Proposals were made to further train specialists in clinical pedagogy, speech therapy, and psychology.

Concluding the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov supported a proposal from the Vice President for medical operations and directed the center's leadership to draft the Foundation's work plan for next year.
