On December 10, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Honored Elder Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Binali Yıldırım, who arrived in our country to participate in the festive celebrations. During the meeting, issues of further development of the centuries-old relations established between the Turkmen and Turkish peoples in various directions were discussed.

Welcoming the guest, Hero-Arkadag noted that he was pleased to meet on the ancient and hospitable Turkmen land during the widely celebrated holidays. The Republic of Turkey supports the legal status of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, recognized twice by the UN, at the international level.

Emphasizing that it was a great honor for him to participate in the celebrations in Turkmenistan, Binali Yıldırım conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero-Arkadag.

Thanking for the kind words, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, in turn, addressed reciprocal greetings to the head of Turkey.

During the meeting, the results of the 16th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States in Budapest and the meeting held within its framework were discussed. Hero-Arkadag thanked the guest for ensuring a high level of organization of the meeting, aimed at strengthening and activating cooperation between the Turkic states.

As noted, Turkmenistan and Turkey are linked by centuries-old friendly and fraternal relations, which serve as the basis for deepening intergovernmental interaction, which is currently carried out at a high level. All this time, interstate dialogue has been developing on the principles of equality, mutual respect, support, and trust.

Turkmenistan attaches great importance to comprehensive cooperation with neighboring and fraternal countries, in particular with the Turkic states, said Hero-Arkadag, noting that fraternal peoples are connected by relations based on historical, cultural, and spiritual commonality. This serves as a solid foundation for the development of interstate interaction.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan's relations with the Organization of Turkic States are reaching a qualitatively new level, in this regard, it is advisable to expand joint programs and projects implemented with the divisions of this Organization, in particular within the framework of TURKSOY. It was stated that the Resolution "2025 - International Year of Peace and Trust" was unanimously adopted by the UN General Assembly.

Hero-Arkadag also invited Binali Yıldırım to participate as an honored guest in the upcoming international events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

Confirming readiness to continue supporting initiatives aimed at further developing and strengthening relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey, the National Leader of the Turkmen people wished the guest new successes in his noble endeavors.
