President Serdar Berdimuhamedov extended his heartfelt condolences to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier following a tragic incident at a Christmas market in Magdeburg that resulted in fatalities and injuries, reports TDH.

"On behalf of the people and Government of Turkmenistan, as well as personally, the head of state expressed sincere sympathy and support to the families and loved ones of the victims during this difficult time, along with wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured," the statement said.

The incident occurred last Friday evening when a vehicle plowed into a crowd at the Christmas market in Magdeburg. The attack claimed the lives of five people and left over 200 injured.
