Statistical reporting is being upgraded in Turkmenistan

In Turkmenistan, work is underway to ensure statistical reporting in accordance with the improved version of the System of National Accounts. Deputy Prime Minister H. Geldimyradov reported on the measures taken in this direction at a Government meeting on January 10.

As noted, the national statistical system is being modernized according to the requirements of the time and cooperation with international financial organizations is being carried out in this direction.

The Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028 provides for statistical reporting in accordance with the improved version of the System of National Accounts.

As part of the transition to this updated version, new methods have been developed and implemented related to a number of government classifiers, financial, banking and insurance activities, science and tourism, as well as calculations of fixed asset consumption.

In this context, a corresponding proposal was submitted to the Head of State for consideration.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of further improving domestic statistics and close cooperation in this area with international financial organizations.

Having approved the proposals on statistical reporting based on the improved form of the System of National Accounts, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to continue working in this direction.
