On January 28, the head of the UN Office in Geneva, Tatyana Valovaya, held a meeting with the heads of the diplomatic corps and representative offices of international organizations located in Geneva. The Turkmen side was represented at the meeting by permanent representative Vepa Hajiyev.
During the meeting, T. Valovaya briefly outlined the prospects for further cooperation, stating the importance of maintaining peace and dialogue and emphasizing the role of multilateral diplomacy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports this.
Permanent observer of the University of Peace (UPEACE) at the UN, David Fernandez Puyana, emphasized the contribution of Turkmenistan in efforts to maintain peace and trust. A clear indication of this is the proclamation of 2025 by the UN General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan as the “International Year of Peace and Trust.”
The Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva V. Khadzhiev familiarized the participants in detail with the activities carried out by Turkmenistan in an effort to maintain peace and trust, and emphasized the symbolism of the fact that in 2025 the country celebrates the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality, which is the basis for promoting dialogue, strengthening international cooperation and ensuring sustainable peace.
