President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliev and the heads of the regions. The main topic of discussion was the agricultural sector and ongoing farming activities across the country, TDH reports.
Vice-Premier T. Atahalliev provided an update on seasonal agricultural work. According to the report, farmers are currently applying mineral fertilizers and irrigating wheat fields in accordance with agronomic standards. Land designated for cotton planting is undergoing pre-sowing irrigation, and high-quality seeds are being prepared for the upcoming sowing campaign.
Additionally, regions continue planting and maintaining crops such as potatoes, vegetables, and melons to increase production volumes and ensure sufficient food supply for the population. The vice-premier also briefed the head of state on preparations for the spring tree-planting campaign.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that strict adherence to agronomic standards is essential for achieving high yields and advancing the agricultural sector.
Addressing the meeting participants, the head of state reiterated the importance of ongoing agronomic measures in wheat-planted fields. He instructed authorities to closely monitor land preparation for cotton sowing, conduct pre-sowing irrigation in Dashoguz and Lebap regions, and ensure farmers receive high-quality cotton seeds before the sowing campaign begins.
Special attention was given to the organized implementation of the spring tree-planting campaign. The president also instructed officials to strictly oversee the timely and high-quality execution of planned activities for the year within the framework of the 2022–2028 Socio-Economic Development Program and the National Rural Program.
