Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, met with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during his working visit to Qatar.

According to the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties emphasized that energy, investment, and transport sectors are key areas for strengthening Turkmen-Qatari relations.

Additionally, a detailed exchange of views took place on regional security issues and development priorities.

The progress of construction work on the Serhetabat-Herat section in Afghanistan, a crucial stage in the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline project, was also discussed. The Qatari side highly appreciated the cooperation in this area.

The parties further highlighted the constructive nature of their collaboration within international organizations.

The Qatari side was invited to participate in a high-level forum to be held in Ashgabat on December 12 as part of the International Year of Peace and Trust.
