President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev and hakims of the velayats, where issues related to the development of the country's agricultural sector were discussed, TDH reports.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Atahalliyev reported on the current state of agricultural work. It was noted that crop maintenance work continues in the wheat fields, including fertilizing and watering. In parallel, preparations are underway for the cotton sowing campaign.

Special attention is paid to the cultivation of potatoes, buckwheat vegetables and other crops in order to increase their production and meet the needs of the population. Preparations are also underway for the spring gardening campaign and the organization of nationwide tree planting campaigns.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of further developing agriculture as a key sector of the national economy, ensuring food abundance in the country. He noted the need to combine national farming traditions with international best practices in the production of agricultural products.

The head of state paid special attention to preparations for the National Spring Holiday, instructing to take the necessary measures to provide markets and shops in the regions with food during the holidays, as well as to monitor the progress of construction of social and industrial facilities scheduled for commissioning this year.
