A telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during which opportunities for deepening traditional interstate cooperation were discussed. This cooperation has been successfully developing over the years on both bilateral and multilateral levels, as reported by TDH.

Warmly greeting each other, the leaders exchanged congratulations on the upcoming holiday, Nowruz Bayram, extending their best wishes to the fraternal peoples of both countries.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized that Nowruz has symbolized the renewal of nature and the strengthening of human connections since ancient times. This bright holiday intertwines the customs and traditions of various nations, showcasing their aspirations for peace, unity, and prosperity.

It was noted that this holiday holds special significance today, as the ideals and values it embodies are more relevant than ever in the modern world.

Expressing gratitude to Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his significant personal contribution to strengthening relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted with satisfaction that bilateral ties are actively developing across a wide range of areas.

According to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the main factor behind this dynamic is the open, trusting, and constructive political dialogue established at the highest state level. Meetings and contacts between the leaders of the two states serve as powerful impulses for further deepening the Turkmen-Uzbek strategic partnership.

"We fully support the summits 'Central Asia - European Union' and 'Central Asia - Gulf Countries,' as well as the Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State, to be held in Uzbekistan this year," emphasized the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, expressing confidence in fruitful joint work on the preparation and high-level conduct of these international events.

Focusing on the upcoming April 4 meeting in Samarkand between Central Asian leaders and European Union representatives, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty recalled his recent interview with Euronews, where he highlighted the importance of this first summit of such a level in the context of further developing cooperation between the region and Europe.

In this regard, readiness was expressed for joint work on the forum's agenda, its program, and the documents expected to be adopted following the summit.
