On March 28, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov visited the Republic of Estonia. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the visit, he met with Martin Rojer, Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, as well as Erika Ellama-Ots, Director of the Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.
During the political consultations with Martin Roger, topical issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Estonia were discussed. The ways of increasing the volume of trade and economic partnership have been thoroughly considered. The parties exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation in the field of digitalization. The need to intensify cultural and humanitarian cooperation was emphasized. In this regard, the development of cooperation in the field of education, the establishment of direct contacts between universities, the exchange of students and teachers were named among the priorities.
Speaking about strengthening cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries, the expediency of expanding the legal framework was expressed.
During the meeting with Erica Ellama-Ots, the need to establish and strengthen direct contacts between representatives of the business circles of Turkmenistan and Estonia was noted. The possibilities of creating a platform to increase the volume and expand the points of turnover were also considered.
