Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia Confirm Commitment to Expanding Cooperation

Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation. National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held a meeting with the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Member of the Cabinet of Ministers, Emir Turki bin Mohammed Al Saud. The meeting was reported by the TDH news agency.

During the discussions, the Saudi minister emphasized that the Kingdom highly values Turkmenistan's achievements in various fields and expressed admiration for the architectural appearance of the Turkmen capital.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked him for his kind words and conveyed his best wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.

Both sides acknowledged that interstate relations between Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia are characterized by openness, mutual respect, and a high level of trust. The key areas for future trade and economic cooperation were identified as the fuel and energy sector, trade, investment, transport, the chemical and textile industries, and agriculture.

The meeting also highlighted the successful cooperation between Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia within international organizations, particularly the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The two countries reaffirmed their shared positions on key international policy issues.

Additionally, the parties discussed opportunities for developing interparliamentary cooperation and enhancing cultural and humanitarian ties between the two nations.
