On April 3, the ambassadors of the Central Asian countries met with the OSCE Secretary General in Vienna. The meeting was held on the initiative of Turkmenistan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the participants discussed the OSCE's broad agenda and the role of Central Asia in promoting the Helsinki Accords.
The agenda of the meeting included issues of regional security, climate change, transport and trade connectivity, human rights, the rule of law, and democratic institutions.
Turkmenistan's initiative to proclaim 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust, supported by the UN community, is described in detail. It was also noted that during this year, numerous events will be held aimed at strengthening trust between nations through diplomacy, dialogue, cultural exchange, trade and economic cooperation, the source said.
