Turkmen Parliament hosts meeting with representative of the Konrad adenauer foundation

On April 8, a meeting took place between S. Gaipov, Chair of the Committee of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on Environmental Protection, Nature Management, and the Agro-Industrial Complex, and Andre Algermissen, Regional Representative for Central Asia of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation of the Federal Republic of Germany.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to environmental protection, sustainable use of natural resources, and fostering cooperation in science, education, and inter-parliamentary relations.

According to the Mejlis' official website, the guests were briefed on the priority areas of Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy, the activities of the national Parliament, and the country’s achievements in environmental diplomacy.

Particular attention was given to multilateral cooperation within the frameworks of “Central Asia + Germany,” “European Union and Turkmenistan,” and “Central Asia + EU.”

The importance of the inter-parliamentary dialogue between the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the European Union was noted, as well as the country’s membership in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the significance of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties with the German Bundestag, the source added.
