Representatives of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea held an online meeting on cybersecurity issues, which indicates the growing attention of both countries to the protection of the digital space. The videoconference, held on April 10, was attended by specialists from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the State Cybersecurity Service at the Turkmenaragatnashyk Agency (Turkmensvyaz) and the Agency for Internet and Information Security of the Republic of Korea (KISA). This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Cybersecurity is a set of measures aimed at protecting computer systems and networks from various threats, such as hacker attacks, identity theft and the spread of malware. In today's world, where most processes, from government services to personal communication, are moving to an online format, ensuring cybersecurity is becoming extremely important for the protection of both the state and each individual Internet user.
During the online meeting, representatives of Turkmenistan and South Korea exchanged views on how to expand cooperation between the two countries in the field of information, cyber and Internet security. This includes the exchange of experience, joint projects and training of specialists.
KISA representatives expressed interest in Turkmen specialists taking part in international events and specialized trainings held in South Korea. This will allow Turkmen experts to gain advanced knowledge and skills in the field of cybersecurity. Both sides stressed the importance of continuing the exchange of experience, which will allow both countries to learn from each other's practices and jointly counter modern cyber threats.
The State Cybersecurity Service under the Turkmenaragatnashyk Agency is a key body in Turkmenistan responsible for ensuring the security of the country's information systems and networks. The participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlines the importance of international cooperation in this area. The Internet and Information Security Agency of the Republic of Korea (KISA) is the leading organization in South Korea dealing with Internet security and information security issues.
This meeting is an important step towards strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and South Korea in such an important area as cybersecurity. The exchange of experience and participation in international programs will contribute to improving the security of Turkmenistan's digital space, which in turn will ensure the safety of citizens, businesses and government agencies in the online environment.
