Turkmenistan and Somalia Discuss Expanding Bilateral Cooperation

On April 30, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting between the head of the Foreign Ministry Rashid Meredov and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Turkmenistan Fathudin Ali Mohamed, who represents the interests of his country with residence in Ankara.

According to the Foreign Ministry of the country, during the talks, the parties discussed the prospects for strengthening bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Somalia. The diplomats emphasized the importance of holding political consultations between the foreign ministries as a key factor in developing cooperation.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the upcoming International Forum of Peace and Trust, scheduled for December 12, 2025, and the possibility of the Somali delegation participating in it.

Representatives of the two countries expressed their mutual desire to intensify cooperation in various areas, primarily in the trade and economic sphere. The need to improve the legal framework and the importance of the participation of representatives of the business community of both countries in international economic events were noted.

In addition, the parties agreed to expand cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
