President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived on Thursday for a working visit to the Balkan Velayat. According to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper, the head of state departed from Ashgabat International Airport, where he was seen off by government officials.

Shortly afterward, the President's plane landed at the International Airport of the city of Turkmenbashi.

As part of the visit, Serdar Berdimuhamedov reviewed preparations for the upcoming UN international conference on landlocked developing countries, scheduled to take place in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. He also chaired an extended off-site meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
