More than 100 high-level delegations will take part in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), which will be held in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone in Turkmenistan from August 5 to 8. This was announced by the head of the Foreign Ministry Rashid Meredov during an extended visiting meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Balkan velayat, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The forum is expected to bring together representatives from 32 landlocked developing countries, delegates from 47 small island states, high-level representatives from 49 least developed countries, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
The conference, entitled “Promoting Progress through Partnerships,” will be held at the level of heads of state and government. The event will also bring together leaders and representatives of international and regional organizations, financial institutions, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, together with the UN Secretariat, is conducting intensive preparations. An extensive program is planned for the event, including political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian events. During the conference, the Central Asian countries will hold national days in Avaza, presenting their culture, art and national cuisine.
