The Russian Embassy in Ashgabat presented the collection "Contribution of Turkmenistan to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War: History and Modernity". Russian diplomats, publicists and representatives of Turkmen scientific circles participated in the compilation of the publication, TASS reports.

The publication contains detailed information about the contribution of each velayat of Turkmenistan and the main organizational events of the war years. Separate sections are devoted to the exploits of natives of Turkmenistan who were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union and full cavaliers of the Order of Glory.

"For the first time, photographs of participants in the Great Patriotic War have been published from the family archives of the country's residents. The publication also includes articles about the work carried out in modern Turkmenistan to preserve the historical truth about the Great Victory," TASS quotes the words of the Russian Ambassador to Ashgabat Ivan Volynkin from a speech at a reception at the Russian diplomatic mission on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
