A Memorandum of Understanding between the State Committee for Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) was signed with the participation of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, TDH reports.

The document is aimed at developing cooperation in the energy, water and urban development sectors in the city of Arkadag, built in accordance with the concept of a “smart” and “green” city using modern technologies and digital solutions.

The memorandum provides for the introduction of technologies for saving water and energy, developing renewable energy sources and reusing water resources, as well as exchanging best practices in implementing new projects in these areas.

Following the signing ceremony, ADB Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Artur Andrysiak noted the special role of the country's leadership in promoting investment projects implemented jointly with the bank. It was also proposed to organize a ceremonial event to mark the 25th anniversary of ADB's cooperation with Turkmenistan.
