On November 6, 2025, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Indonesia (with residence in Kuala Lumpur), Mr. M. Mashalov, and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Togar Simatupang.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in such areas as science, education, and technology.

In this context, the sides considered the issue of preparing a draft Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of higher education between Turkmenistan and Indonesia.

The Indonesian side also informed about its intention to offer the Turkmen side a number of educational programs, including the scholarships for students.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain regular contacts aimed at further strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and Indonesia in the field of education.
