During a working visit to the Mary velayat, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting on the development of the agro-industrial complex and agricultural research, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

The head of state reviewed the pace of seasonal agricultural work and the progress of the National Rural Program. Leaders of the country's agricultural sector participated in the meeting.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev reported on the work of research institutes for grain production, agriculture, and cotton growing, as well as on measures to develop the industry on a scientific basis and the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns.

The meeting focused on breeding work to develop high-yielding varieties of agricultural crops adapted to Turkmenistan's soil and climate conditions, and the introduction of innovative technologies in the agricultural sector.

The President emphasized the importance of high-quality research in breeding and seed production, as well as the need to study advanced global practices and modern agricultural technologies. Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave a number of specific instructions to agricultural sector leaders to improve the qualifications of specialists and diversify the activities of scientific institutes.
