National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping during a goodwill visit to China. Xi expressed confidence that projects to establish Luban Workshops and a traditional Chinese medicine center will be implemented in Turkmenistan in the near future.

The sides discussed cooperation in cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as in science and education, Turkmenistan’s official media reported Wednesday.

Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for providing broad opportunities for Turkmen students to study at higher education institutions in China.

Xi reaffirmed China’s readiness to continue cooperation in education and to expand exchanges in intellectual property and horse breeding. Turkmen agricultural products were noted for their high environmental quality. The Chinese side expressed interest in expanding cooperation in agriculture, including the supply of high-performance equipment, the introduction of water-saving technologies, and the development of green energy.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the development of economic, trade, and cultural ties.
