Turkmen and Kazakh companies signed a series of bilateral agreements during a Turkmen-Kazakh business forum held July 24 in Astana, according to the official information resource of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The forum took place on the sidelines of a meeting of the Turkmen-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Koishybayev and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev. About 40 Turkmen and 100 Kazakh companies participated.
At the conclusion of the forum, the sides signed several documents, including a memorandum of cooperation between the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and QazTrade, e-commerce agreements between Turkmen companies Hazar Logistik and Gamma with Kazakhstan’s Silk Way Asia Trade and an investment and construction cooperation agreement between Ojar Aziýa and Ashra Solutions.
Participants also discussed establishing mutual trade houses, expanding digital trade and aligning a roadmap to increase trade turnover, according to Kazakhstan’s Report bureau, citing the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the ministry, trade between the two countries has more than doubled over the past five years, surpassing $530 million. Kazakh exports to Turkmenistan increased nearly 50% to $316.3 million, while Turkmen exports to Kazakhstan totaled $215.8 million. From January to April 2026, trade turnover reached $180 million, up 7% year over year.
