President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on the digital system with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister T.Atakhalliev, who oversees the agro-industrial complex, and khakimov velayats. The meeting discussed the development of the agricultural sector, as well as the progress of seasonal field work in the country, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The khakims of the velayats reported on the situation on farmland. It was noted that cotton sowing continues in the regions, the necessary measures are being taken for timely sowing and effective use of agricultural machinery. In areas with seedlings, row-to-row processing and care of crops are carried out in accordance with agrotechnical requirements.
At the same time, as part of the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan to increase the production of potatoes and vegetable crops, as well as to provide the population with these products, planting and care of seedlings of these crops are actively carried out in the regions.
In the Balkan and Dashoguz velayats, work is underway to conclude contracts with cocoon producers, in the Akhal, Lebap and Mary velayats – for the care of silkworms.
Measures are being taken to develop horse breeding, increase the number of livestock and preserve the thoroughbred of the famous Akhal-Teke horses. Preparations are underway to hold celebrations dedicated to the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse, which is celebrated annually on the last Sunday of April.
Summing up the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure strict control over the sowing of cotton and the care of wheat crops within the established agrotechnical deadlines.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of seasonal agricultural work, instructing to keep timely sowing and care of spring crops under control.
The President of Turkmenistan also stressed the importance of popularizing the famous Akhal-Teke horses and instructed to ensure a high organizational level of holding festive events dedicated to the National Holiday of the Turkmen horse.
