It has been 9 years since the launch into space of the first national communications satellite of Turkmenistan "TürkmenÄlem52oE" and the creation of the JSC "Turkmen Hemrasy".

The TürkmenÄlem52oE satellite was designed by the joint Franco-Italian aerospace manufacturer Thales Alenia Space and launched by the American company SpaceX.

The launch took place from the Cape Canaveral cosmodrome in the U.S. state of Florida on April 28, 2015.

The satellite is in geostationary orbit, covering most of Europe, Asia and the Middle East with its signal.

The resources of "TurkmenÄlem52o E" provide ample opportunities for the organization of communication services and digital broadcasting, the creation of VSAT networks, broadband access, the organization of departmental and corporate communication networks in the satellite coverage area.

Thus, the satellite made it possible to start broadcasting in the country in high quality of 13 TV and radio channels. Thanks to the lease of transponders by foreign providers, over 260 television and radio channels are broadcast from the national communications satellite in Persian, Pashtun, Dari, Kurdish, Turkish, Russian and Uzbek languages.

The services of "TurkmenÄlem52o E" are used by government agencies, private enterprises, as well as a number of foreign companies.

Thus, the first national communications satellite of Turkmenistan has established itself in the market as an important element of timely data exchange between the countries of the West and the East.
