Turkmenistan participates in the Asian Women's Forum in Samarkand

The Asian Women's Forum on "A regional approach to Women's Economic, Social and political Empowerment" has started its work in Samarkand today.

According to the website of the Mejlis of Uzbekistan, the forum is attended by more than 30 women deputies of parliaments of East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia and Central Asia, heads of government, representatives of more than 40 representative offices of foreign countries in Uzbekistan and foreign organizations, about 400 representatives of civil society institutions, women leaders, businesswomen, political scientists, social activists, scientists, representatives of economic sectors and various spheres and active women.

Turkmenistan is represented by a delegation consisting of Chairman of the Committee of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Policy Bahar Seydova and member of the Committee on Environmental Protection, Nature Management and Agro-industrial Complex of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Bayramgozel Myradova.

After the opening ceremony of the forum, the participants began to work, dividing into parallel sessions in order to share experiences, study modern approaches of international organizations and financial institutions.

The Asian Women's Forum on the use of the rich potential of women, the exchange of experience in realizing their potential in all spheres of society was proposed to be held in Uzbekistan by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his speech at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
