Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova held a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen parliament.

During the talks, the sides stressed the special role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in further strengthening friendly relations between the two countries. They discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in this area, including the intensification of the work of bilateral parliamentary friendship groups, and the exchange of experience in improving legislation and parliamentary activities.

Special attention was paid to the preparations for the next Parliamentary Forum of the Central Asian and Russian states. The participants of the meeting noted that this forum makes a significant contribution to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between the Central Asian countries and the Russian Federation and contributes to the multilateral development of international relations.

Following the talks, Gulmanova and Kosachev expressed confidence in the further successful development and enrichment of effective interparliamentary dialogue with new content for the benefit of the peoples of the two friendly states.
