Deputy Minister Myahri Byashimova met with the new head of the UNICEF Representative Office in Turkmenistan, Jalpa Ratna, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports.

Byashimova congratulated Ratna on her appointment and wished her success in developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNICEF. The parties noted the high level of current cooperation and discussed the prospects for its further expansion.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of the UNICEF Country Programme for Turkmenistan for 2021-2025. Key areas of the program include governance for children, health, nutrition, early development, social protection and inclusive education.

The diplomats considered the possibilities of strengthening cooperation, improving the legal framework and implementing joint projects in priority areas.

The Head of the UNICEF Representative Office expressed readiness to further deepen partnerships in all areas of mutual interest.
