A ceremony of handing over a Certificate of assignment to a star in the constellation Pegasus named after Arkadag was held at the Magtumguly Turkmen State University, the Turkmenistan newspaper reports: The Golden Age."

The University was also presented with a telescope and photographs of a celestial object.

As previously reported, scientists of the Cosmos-Earth society named the Arkadag star in honor of the first anniversary of the opening of the eponymous "smart" city and as a symbol of pride in it.

This was announced on June 29 at a solemn conference dedicated to the anniversary of the city.

The decision to transfer the Certificate, telescope and photographs to the Magtumguly TSU was made to familiarize the public with information about the star.
