President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev and hakims of the velayats, where they discussed the progress of seasonal work in the agro-industrial complex and regions of the country. Particular attention was paid to preparations for the cotton harvest, which will begin on September 11. The President instructed to check the readiness of reception points, combines and vehicles to ensure harvesting without losses.

At the meeting, T. Atahalliyev reported on the progress of the ongoing seasonal agricultural campaigns in the country. Active preparations for the cotton harvest are underway in the velayats: cotton gins and reception points, vehicles for transporting raw materials and other agricultural machinery are ready for the start of the season.

In addition, measures were discussed to sow wheat on time and in accordance with the requirements. The country is taking measures to effectively use special equipment and units, provide producers with high-quality seeds. Along with this, winter crops are being cared for. In the Dashoguz and Lebap velayats, rice fields are being cared for, and in the Mary velayat, sugar beet crops are being cared for, in particular, inter-row cultivation, mineral fertilizer application and vegetation irrigation are being carried out.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of the agricultural sector in the development of the national economy. He noted the need to conduct current seasonal activities at the proper level and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to keep the work carried out in this direction under review.

Then the President of the country focused on the ongoing important campaign - sowing wheat. He emphasized that a rich harvest, thereby strengthening the country's food security and improving the well-being of the people, largely depends on the timely and high-quality sowing. In this regard, the President instructed to ensure strict control over the sowing of wheat in the velayats within the agrotechnical deadlines and in accordance with the established requirements, as well as the efficient operation of seeders and equipment.

Speaking about the approaching cotton harvesting campaign, the President ordered to once again check the readiness of reception points, combines and vehicles that will be used during the season. He noted that the timely and high-quality implementation of the relevant agricultural measures will ensure the loss-free collection of the cotton harvest grown by the hard work of farmers and the successful implementation of reforms in the industry.

The President also instructed to strictly monitor the progress of construction in the velayats of facilities envisaged by the National Rural Program, paying special attention to the quality and timing of their commissioning.
