Turkmenistan Prepares to Host UN Conference on Landlocked Countries

Turkmenistan is actively preparing for the UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. As reported by the state news agency TDH, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as part of a working visit to the Balkan velayat, held a meeting on preparations for the said international forum, which will be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

The meeting heard reports on planned events, the organization of the reception of foreign delegations and the provision of the necessary conditions for the effective work of the forum. Special attention was paid to the program of cultural events and the involvement of young people who speak foreign languages ​​in the work of the forum.

“Representatives of foreign countries who have come to the international forum will demonstrate the importance of the international event that will be held in our country and its significance for the peoples of the world. It is necessary to receive delegations in accordance with the centuries-old tradition of national hospitality,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized.

According to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the cultural events that will be organized within the framework of the conference “should be filled with bright moments and memorable events.”

The Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty emphasized the importance of a comprehensive organization of the forum dedicated to the issues of the efficiency of transport and logistics services and the creation of the necessary conditions for countries that do not have direct access to sea terminals.
