President of Turkmenistan holds working meeting with provincial governors

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via digital system with the governors (hyakims) of the provinces (velayats), focusing on current seasonal agricultural activities and fire prevention measures amid climate warming. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahallyev, according to the electronic newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan.

Vice Premier Atahallyev reported on the progress of the country’s agricultural campaigns. Currently, wheat fields are being maintained in accordance with agro-technical standards, and the cotton sowing campaign is being carried out in an organized manner. In areas where sowing has been completed, irrigation is underway, while fields with emerging seedlings are undergoing inter-row cultivation.

It was also noted that care is being taken of potatoes, melons, and other food crops in the provinces’ farmlands. Work is ongoing to care for silkworms to supply raw materials to the country’s relevant enterprises.

Special attention at the meeting was given to fire prevention. In light of climate warming, Atahallyev reported on actions being taken to prevent fires in forested areas, pastures, and farmlands.

Summing up the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of adhering to agro-technical standards and fully utilizing modern equipment to increase the efficiency of agricultural production. He instructed that the progress of ongoing agricultural campaigns be kept under constant control and that strict compliance with fire safety regulations be ensured.

The head of state also gave a number of instructions regarding the high-level organization of cultural events in the regions in celebration of the National Turkmen Horse Holiday.
