Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has been awarded the highest state order of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the "Oliý Darajali Dustlik" order, during bilateral talks with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The award ceremony took place in a formal setting at the conclusion of the official negotiations, as reported by TDH.
In presenting the award, the President of Uzbekistan particularly highlighted Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov's outstanding contributions to strengthening the traditional relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries.
"Today is truly a historic day for us. It is my great honor to present to you, a close friend of our country, the high state award of Uzbekistan — the 'Oliý Darajali Dustlik' order," said the Uzbek leader.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also noted that relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have reached a high level and are exemplary in nature. "It is thanks to your support that in 2017, the solid foundation for strategic cooperation between our countries was laid," said Mirziyoyev.
During the meeting, the active development of contacts between the parliaments, governments, regions, business communities, public organizations, creative figures, and youth of the two countries was noted with satisfaction. The successful implementation of trade and economic cooperation programs and projects was also highlighted. The cultural and humanitarian interaction was highly appreciated, including presentations of collections of Makhtumkuli's works in Uzbek in Ashgabat and Tashkent, as well as the premiere screening of a joint Turkmen-Uzbek feature film at the international film festival in Ashgabat.
