President of Turkmenistan meets with Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran

The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymukhammedov, met with the Vice President and Head of the Organization for Planning and Budget of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Hamid Pournemohammadi, as reported by TDH.

As noted, the friendly and neighborly relations between Turkmenistan and Iran have deep historical roots. In the modern era, this cooperation is developing both bilaterally and within international organizations based on mutual respect and trust.

Emphasizing the significant potential for expanding bilateral cooperation, the parties discussed the need to more effectively utilize the potential of the Turkmen-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission, which serves as an important mechanism for strengthening fruitful cooperation.

"As is known, Turkmenistan advocates for the diversification of energy exports to the global market," President Serdar Berdymukhammedov said, adding that the country is currently working with its partners on implementing a number of important energy projects. This work is being carried out with consideration for the safety of the population and the environment. In this regard, Turkmenistan reaffirmed its readiness to support initiatives and proposals aimed at further strengthening interstate dialogue.
