President of Turkmenistan Discusses Prospects of Cooperation with Head of Petronas

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the head of the Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik. The parties discussed further prospects for cooperation, TDH reports.

During the talks, it was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening bilateral relations with Malaysia in the economic, trade, energy, transport, cultural and educational spheres.

Trade and economic cooperation remains a key area of ​​Turkmen-Malaysian cooperation. The role of Petronas in developing partnership relations between the two countries was especially emphasized.

The interlocutors identified the fuel and energy sector as the most promising area of ​​bilateral cooperation. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the Malaysian company has been actively involved in hydrocarbon production projects in Turkmenistan for almost 30 years and has been training highly qualified specialists for the country's oil and gas industry.

The head of state confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to consider specific proposals to expand cooperation in new areas. In turn, the head of Petronas expressed gratitude for the trust shown and confirmed the company's commitment to the obligations it has undertaken.
