Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Russia Esen Aydogdyev took part in the meeting of ambassadors of the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held at the Russian Foreign Ministry. The meeting was attended by Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of foreign states to Russia, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, Spiritual Administrations of Muslims and representatives of other religious associations.

The results of the work of the Strategic Vision Group in 2023 and prospects for 2024 were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the special event of the Group “Russia - Islamic World: a fair multipolar world order and safe development”, which will be held on May 16, 2024 in Kazan as part of the anniversary XV International Economic KazanForum 2024.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrei Rudenko took part in the event from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

“The role of the supporting structure in relations between Russia and the OIC is played by the Strategic Vision Group under the leadership of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich. It serves as an instrument for strengthening friendship, mutual understanding and trust between Russia and the Islamic world. In essence, this is a unique platform for interreligious dialogue, which is aimed at protecting traditional values, as well as strengthening mutual understanding between the Russian Orthodox Church and Muslim organizations. In mid-May, the next International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum” will take place in Kazan. Its results will give additional impetus to our cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. We will be glad to see representative delegations of your countries in the hospitable capital of Tatarstan,” said Andrey Rudenko.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Economic Forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum” Marat Khusnullin sent a video greeting to the meeting participants: “Currently, interaction between Russia and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has reached the level of partnership. It is especially valuable for us that Islamic countries, in the face of hostile actions by Western states, supported Russia’s policy aimed at preserving traditional spiritual and moral values. In addition, we can say with confidence that our economic cooperation is opening up new prospects. This is evidenced by the growth in trade turnover between Russia and the OIC states. Such successes were possible largely thanks to regular joint events, including the International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”. It has established itself as an effective platform for establishing trusting contacts between Russia and Islamic countries.”

Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia - Islamic World” Rustam Minnikhanov, at a meeting with the ambassadors, emphasized that meetings in this format at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs have already become traditional.
