During the nationwide autumn greening campaign, 449 464 tree saplings were planted across Turkmenistan, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov kicked off the autumn tree-planting season by planting a 12-year-old Turkmen juniper. The age of the planted tree symbolically corresponds to the significant date of December 12, International Neutrality Day, the agency notes.

Within the framework of the greening campaign, in addition to planting new trees, a total of 1 997 775 trees were cared for. Parks and forest areas were also cleaned and landscaped.

Planting seedlings of various species, taking into account soil and climatic conditions, will create green areas in areas at the foot of the mountains.
