The President of Turkmenistan received the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates Abdullah bin Tuk Al-Marri, who arrived in the Turkmen capital at the head of his country's delegation to participate in the Turkmenistan-UAE business forum.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet in person, the guest conveyed to the head of State cordial greetings from the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. As it was emphasized, the UAE attaches great importance to strengthening fruitful relations with fraternal Turkmenistan based on common historical roots and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Thanking for the kind words, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed warm greetings and best wishes to the head of the friendly state, noting that the United Arab Emirates is a long-term partner of our country. At the same time, it was emphasized that the interstate dialogue is based on the principles of mutual respect and support for each other.

The Turkmen-Emirati business forum organized in Ashgabat will help strengthen ties between our countries and exchange views on new areas of bilateral cooperation, the head of Turkmenistan continued and, taking the opportunity, wished a successful visit and fruitful business event.

During the discussion of the prospects for further partnership, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and his guest noted with satisfaction that relations between Turkmenistan and the UAE have been developing dynamically in recent years. Special emphasis was placed on the active nature of political dialogue and interaction within the framework of authoritative structures, primarily the United Nations. This is confirmed by the mutual support provided in the international arena, including initiatives aimed at ensuring peace and sustainable development.

During the meeting, the increasing indicators of bilateral trade turnover were noted. In order to strengthen productive ties in this area, the need to maintain coordinated contacts between government agencies of the two countries, create favorable conditions for trade development, and hold mutual business events and conferences was emphasized. In this context, the Head of Turkmenistan expressed firm confidence that the current Turkmen-Emirati business forum will contribute to the expansion of trade relations and the establishment of effective partnership between representatives of the private sector.

The fuel and energy complex, where positive experience of joint activities with leading UAE companies has been accumulated, was named among the promising vectors. Turkmenistan, possessing huge reserves of hydrocarbon resources, aims to develop this industry in a diversified way, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, confirming his readiness to deepen cooperation in this direction.

As the Minister of Economy of the friendly country noted, the UAE business community is interested in strengthening its position in the promising Turkmen market. Inviting Emirati companies to participate in major international energy projects in Turkmenistan, the head of state expressed support for the realization of investment potential.

Among the new areas of cooperation, the sphere of renewable and "green" energy was identified. In this context, the expediency of building up partnership in this area was emphasized and the mutual readiness to consider opportunities for the implementation of joint projects was confirmed.

Special emphasis was placed on the strategic importance of international transport and transit corridors for the two countries. Taking into account this fact, the need for further cooperation in the field of creating a multidisciplinary transport system, including sea, rail and air routes, was stated.

At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Minister of Economy of the OEA expressed confidence that the traditionally friendly interstate dialogue based on the principles of openness will continue to develop successfully for the benefit of both countries and their peoples on a mutually beneficial long-term basis, filled with new concrete content.
