The «Turkmenaragatnashyk» Agency is ready to establish cooperation in attracting investments and implementing a number of projects, including the creation of a data center and factories for the production of fiber-optic cables, server equipment. This was stated by the deputy chairman of the Agency Nurmyrat Rejepov, speaking at the forum "Turkmenistan – Investment and Development", which takes place in London on November 22-23.
Promising areas of cooperation are also the development of IT services and management systems for "smart" cities in Turkmenistan, Rejepov said. He also drew the attention of foreign businessmen and investors to the modernization project of the Ashgabat city telephone network, which provides for the introduction of the latest wireless communication technologies.
Another relevant project is the laying of a fiber-optic communication system across the Caspian Sea, in the direction of Europe.
To date, there are 8 interstate fiber-optic directions of information transmission in Turkmenistan. At the same time, over the past three years, the total capacity of purchased international Internet channels has increased tenfold. Therefore, special attention is paid in the country to increasing the transit capacity of traffic and expansion of the main transport network is envisaged, the representative of the «Turkmenaragatnashyk» noted.
He also told the forum that the Program for the implementation of the Concept of Digital Economy Development in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025 is aimed at reforming legislation in the field of digitalization, training ICT specialists, creating e-government, developing e-commerce, digital medicine and digital education, cloud technologies, the use of innovative technologies in the field of green energy and agriculture, support startups and entrepreneurship in the field of ICT, the use of biometrics technologies, the creation and development of "smart" cities.
As a vivid example of the implementation of this Concept, Rejepov called the recent opening of the city of Arkadag, in the life of which the most advanced information and communication and "green" technologies are integrated.
