A meeting of the International Council for Business Cooperation of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Caspian Region countries was held in Astrakhan

On October 30-31, 2024, the XXI meeting of the International Council for Business Cooperation of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Caspian Region countries "Business Caspian" was held in Astrakhan. The event was organized by the Union "Astrakhan Chamber of Commerce and Industry" with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Russian-Iranian Business Council, and the Government of the Astrakhan Region.

On October 30, a plenary session "Business Caspian - Experience and Prospects for Effective Partnership" was held. The Consul of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan) delivered a welcome speech at the session, noting that Turkmenistan, as one of the key countries of the Caspian region, consistently advocates for comprehensive and mutually beneficial cooperation among the Caspian basin states.

The event was also attended by the Governor of the Astrakhan Region I. Babushkin, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as representatives of the chambers of commerce and industry, state and regional executive and legislative authorities of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as experts, scientists, political scientists, and leaders of public organizations of the Caspian countries.

During the thematic sessions, participants discussed issues of comprehensive expansion of cooperation among the Caspian region countries in the context of the development of the international transport corridor "North-South", in particular, issues of port infrastructure modernization, as well as the development of tourism, trade and economic relations, etc.
