Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Intend to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

At a meeting with Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of developing bilateral relations between the two countries, TDH reports.

The head of state noted that Turkmenistan is committed to strengthening its strategic partnership with Uzbekistan for the benefit of both nations. According to him, the relationship is based on strong bonds of good neighborliness, tested by time.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in key areas of mutual interest. Special attention was given to trade and economic ties, which are showing positive dynamics.

The interlocutors highlighted the successful development of bilateral contacts in cultural, scientific, and educational spheres, which contribute to bringing the peoples closer together and strengthening friendly relations.

In the context of regional cooperation, the significance of the upcoming Central Asia–European Union summit in Samarkand on April 3-4 was emphasized.

The day before, Ashgabat hosted the 20th EU–Central Asia ministerial meeting, attended by representatives of five regional countries under the chairmanship of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas.
